About Alicia Smart

With over 10 years in academia and academic assistance, Alicia Smart is the epitome of excellence in the writing industry. She is our managing editor and is in charge of writing operations at Grade Bees.

I am the Managing Editor at Grade Bees. Therefore, I perform a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the editorial content and direction of a publication or organization. This includes managing our team of editors and writers, and setting academic writing policies and standards. I also supervise the writing team to ensure that our content is of the highest quality and aligned with global academic writing standards while responding to the instructions provided.

My Main Responsibilities

To Develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with the publication’s mission and goals. I also manage a team of editors and writers, providing guidance and feedback to ensure that all assignments are of the highest quality and meet the requirements of their respective grading rubrics.

I also collaborate with other departments, such as design and marketing, to ensure that content is presented in the most effective and responsive to customers in the best way possible. As the head of operations, I oversee the editing and proofreading of all content, ensuring that it is accurate, well-written, and free of errors. I also manage our style guide and ensure that our 0% plagiarism policy and the culture of original content it is followed consistently across all content.

As a managing editor of an online service, I keep up to date with industry trends and best practices and make recommendations for how the publication can stay competitive and relevant. I also attend industry events and conferences to represent the publication and build relationships with other industry professionals.

This job requires me to meet the following expectations

  • Having the right experience in an editorial role, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Maintaining strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback to writers.
  • Having excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Consistently holding strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of editors and writers.
  • Having familiarity with content management systems and digital publishing tools.
  • Implementing strong knowledge of AP style guide and understanding of SEO and analytics.
  • Having a strong understanding of the digital media landscape and trends in the industry.
  • The ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Always keeping strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Being the Managing Editor plays a critical role in shaping the editorial direction and content of all the assignments. I must be able to lead a team of editors and writers in creating high-quality, engaging content that meets the grade targets of customers. My job requires strong leadership, management, and editorial skills, as well as a deep understanding of the industry and the ability to stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices.
